Overview: Our Hitting Development Camp offers 6th-9th graders an opportunity to develop swing fundamentals and offensive approaches using the help of cutting-edge technology. Participants in the Hitting Development Camp will be divided by grade level. Each grade level will be limited to 10 participants to maximize instructor-to-participant ratios and provide as much individualized instruction and development as possible.
Purpose: Participants will work directly with members of the EPHS coaching staff to develop bat speed, increase frequencies of hard contact, hit more line drives, improve pitch selection, and much more. Using the Rapsodo 2.0, which measures exit velocity, launch angle, and projected distance among other analytics, players will access data regularly to help measure their progress, competing weekly against themselves and alongside other participants. Participants will work with coaches to develop an offensive approach tailored to their strengths and needs to become a better hitter.
Schedule: See the specific schedule below by grade level for Tuesday or Thursday sessions from January 16 through March 7, 2024 (eight one-hour sessions in total per grade level). All sessions will be held in the cages in the EPHS dome.
6th Grade: 7-8 pm on Tuesdays
7th Grade: 8-9 pm on Tuesdays
8th Grade: 8-9 pm on Thursdays
9th Grade: 9-10 pm on Thursdays
